On April 11, the girls varsity soccer team took on its crosstown rival, the Carmel High School Corsairs. The game was originally scheduled for April 10 when the teams played 10 minutes through a downpour but was rescheduled for the next afternoon.  It ended with a Corsair victory of 2-1 over MHS. The tight game is a product of two strong teams, the Corsairs lost to Fremd in the Class 3A regional finals last May, coming off a Class 2A state title in 2015.

With a squad made up of many younger players, the seniors of the team focus on raising the morale of their juniors.  “We are really encouraging of each other [seniors to underclassmen] and push each person to be the best they can be,” said senior Leah Goldman. “Every practice we work hard to win the next game with intense focus.”
