To further welcome freshmen and their families to MHS, the parent group the Mundelein Ambassadors will be hosting a free barbecue before the first home football game on Friday, Sept. 2.

Hot dogs, chips, and water will be offered during this occasion. The event begins at 5:00 and goes until kickoff at 7:30 p.m.

Freshmen, along with their siblings, are encouraged to attend in order to meet classmates.

The goal of this event is to bring together the MHS community.

“Since we draw from five different school districts, we felt it was important that all of our new families have an opportunity to meet,” said Superintendent Kevin Myers.

Myers also referred to the MHS community as an extended family. He said the intention of this event is to create a strong community by allowing new families to meet each other.

The Mundelein Ambassadors have also served snow cones at Freshman Orientation along with supervising the Back-to-School Bash.

Their future events will revolve around meeting with future ninth grade families and assisting with the Mr. Mustang competition.
