The annual Grayslake, Libertyville, Mundelein, and Vernon Hills Youth Relay For Life event was held on April 8. At this event, students from Mundelein High School, Libertyville High School and Vernon Hills High School came together to raise money to help find a cure for cancer.

Throughout the 12-hour event, participants participated in activities, such as a sports tournaments and a wing-eating contest.

At the end of the 12 hours, $9,500 was raised for the American Cancer Society.

Many people join Relay For Life because they have been personally affected by cancer.  Senior and Events LEadership Team member Kalli Majewski said,” I got involved in relay because I, along with many people I’m close to, have been affected by cancer one too many times, and I wanted to do something important to help prevent and ultimately put an end to it.”
