On May 1, the seniors officially made their decisions on their post-high school plans. For many, life after MHS involves going to college, and for others, it’s the workforce or the military.

No matter what seniors’ intentions are, they will no longer be contained in the same building each day. They will be exploring new avenues where there is more to discover than just what’s within the walls of MHS.

As I am leaving Mundelein myself, I am curious to see what direction my peers are going. Dispersing throughout the country after seeing each other in the hallway every day is a change all seniors, including myself, will have to come to accept.

What follows is a sample of the future lives of the Class of 2017:

Thomas Ferro, Millikin University: Ferro stands on the choir risers before his final choir concert at MHS. He has been actively involved in the performing arts in high school and will continue his passion for it at Millikin University. He auditioned into the theater program at the university that only accepts about 30 people from about 800. He said, “I can't wait to finally start doing what I love every single day and just being fully submerged in theatre 24/7.”
