Carter Pacis won the annual Mr. Mustang, the boys senior class competition, which was held on Friday, March 2.

The competition contained three parts– the girl-guy dance, the talent and the Q&A for the final five.

Pacis played the saxophone and danced for his talent.

“The best part of Mr. Mustang is spending so much time with an amazing group of guys,” said Pacis. “Recording and having rehearsals with them was so much fun. Everyone was so excited and funny. It was an amazing time.”

Other contestants included Jared Honda, Steven Miritello, Ryan Story, Daniel Haller, Shlock Patel, Kyle Ehemann, Ricky Rodriguez, Ben Holly, Robert Iraburo Cochran, Nick Manaligod, Jun Lee and Eubin Kim. Shane Stanley and Andrew Owens served as emcees.

At this point in time: Seniors Ricky Rodriguez and Natasha Kumar perform their dance routine during the beginning of the night. Rodriguez later went on in the night giving the audience an inspirational speech at the end of his comical performance. Rodriguez said, “I think the best part of the whole experience was getting to see so many other great talents and getting to create a great show with them.”

Strike a pose: Ryan Story, Kathryn Carpender and Giselle Gil dance for Story’s talent portion of the night.

Carry a tune: Daniel Haller sings for his talent and is known for his participation in Show Choir. Haller said, “I got to hang out with a bunch of people I probably never would have met so that was really fun!’

Just Dance: Steven Miritello and Sophia Fiore begin their dance routine. Fiore said she had a wardrobe malfunction during a costume change right at the start of the performance.

Hitting the right note: Runner-up Shlock Patel plays the saxophone during his talent routine. Patel also made the crowd laugh with his jokes about driving and his high school experiences.
