Taylor Swift fans around the country united as Taylor Swift announced that the “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour Documentary” was being featured in U.S theaters. For Taylor Swift fans that have yet to see Swift live in concert, this is their chance to experience this world phenomenon right in front of their eyes. For those who had the opportunity to go to The Eras Tour during its U.S leg, this is your chance to relive the show-stopping performance.
“I’ve been a [Taylor Swift] fan since I was eight or nine years old. I saw Night 2 of the Eras Tour in Chicago and I’m seeing the documentary because I want to rewatch it all over again,” Junior Rylee Hawkins, said.
Taylor Swift, one of the biggest names in the music industry since 2006 took the world by storm with her world tour. The Eras Tour was an immersive experience, it explored not just her most recent album, Midnights, but also all 10 of her albums in just two and a half hours. With over 70,000 people that attended each night of the tour, fans of Taylor Swift, or “Swifties,” have been dying to re-experience this concert anyway they can. Now, Swifties all over the U.S will be able to do so. On August 31, Taylor Swift announced “Taylor Swift The Eras Tour Documentary.” The documentary will include some of Swift’s favorite memories from the U.S leg of the Eras Tour, and fans are anxious to see it.
Ella Kessel, a freshman at MHS expressed why she can’t wait to see the Eras Documentary, “I just want the experience again! It was such a cool experience seeing it live so I think it would be cool to see it in theaters with everyone.”
The excitement around Swift grew exponentially since her announcement of 1989 (Taylor’s Version). Since 2021, Swift has been re-recording her first six albums and releasing them along with new songs from “the vault.” On August 10 during the last night of the U.S leg of the Era’s Tour, she announced that 1989 (Taylor’s Version) would be released October 27. Fans were ecstatic at this announcement, causing Swift to become the new topic of conversation on social media. Continuing the spark of interest in the coming album, Swift released the titles of five new songs that will appear on the re-recording of 1989 on September 20.
Taylor Swift has been a non stop force since she began creating music in the 2000s. With all the new coming attractions that Swift has been releasing, her popularity in the entertainment and music industry has been at an all time high. It’s no wonder that every Swiftie can’t wait to see Swift’s new documentary in theaters on October 13 all around the country.
Senior Delaney Kruse explained her simple reasoning as to why she’s going to see the documentary, “I decided to get tickets for the documentary because I really like Taylor and I loved the tour,” she said.
