Hello! My name is Kate Siltman, senior, and I am the Managing Editor of The Mustang. It’s a funny story on how I got involved in the newspaper. When I was picking out classes for my freshman year, I saw journalism. Now, when I used to write random stories in a notebook, I would call it journaling, so without looking at the class description, I checked it off for an elective, thinking that it would be a class where students would just write whatever they wanted. Then I got to the class and realized I was completely wrong. Even though the first few days of class were a complete shock for me, I ended up enjoying journalism. Since then, I have moved from a staff reporter my first year to a features editor my second year to an assistant editor my third year and now, in my final year, managing editor.
