Pageant queens are well-known all over the world. The Mundelein community has its very own Miss Mundelein. However pageants are almost exclusively for girls. MHS decided to change that. By creating Mr. Mustang they provide the opportunity for senior guys to compete in a pageant.

Will Gonzalez after being crowned Mr. Mustang 2023. Gonzalez said that winning was surprising, “I was very honored and it was a super fun experience.”

This year’s Mr. Mustang was a hit. The crowd was loud and the performances were engaging. From Luigi suits to stand-up to singing the performances had the crowd intrigued. Will Gonzalez was crowned Mr. Mustang 2023 with Douglas Campbell as 1st runner up and Caleb Heikes was 2nd runner up. Will gave a performance of “Cry Me A River”. Douglas sang “Hallelujah”. Caleb gave a performance with a rifle but not before letting an audience member try it out first. Other peformances included playing the flute, lip-syncing, playing guitar and more.
