“Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters!”
Ghostbusters the movie franchise are classic movies that can connect to any generation with their light-hearted humor and great storytelling.
There are five movies in the Ghostbuster franchise starting with the original Ghostbusters movie originating in 1984. Halloween is here and if you need a movie to watch this Halloween with friends or family maybe try Ghostbusters or one of the Ghostbusters movies in the franchise.
MHS sophomore Thomas Dunaway has watched all five Ghostbuster movies. Dunaway said that his favorite movie is the original Ghostbusters. He enjoys watching Bill Murray on the big screen as Murray is one of Dunaway’s favorite actors.
The paranormal activities of the Ghostbusters franchise can get anyone into a spooky mood. Dunaway highly recommended everyone watch all the Ghostbusters movies, but if they only have time for one, make sure it’s the first one.
According to the Rotten Tomatoes website, Ghostbusters scored a 95% on the Tomato meter which is a very good score.
Critic Matt Neal writes, “More than 40 years on from becoming the first big-budget comedy, Ghostbusters continues to sparkle because it remains funny and its premise still works.”
Critic Mike Massie writes, “It’s the thrills of wraith-combating, action-packed citywide devastation, and carefree attitudes that highlight the adventures and give the film a strong sense of originality.”
Finally a third critic, Jeffery Anderson writes, “I had a good giggle watching Ghostbusters again, and I recommend checking it out for an evening of turn-your-brain-off entertainment.”
The other Ghostbuster franchise movie Rotten Tomatoes scores are as follows: Ghostbusters 2 scored a 54%; Ghostbusters Answer the Call scored a 74%; Ghostbusters Afterlife scored a 63%; and Ghostbusters Frozen Empire scored a 42%.
If you find yourself this Halloween sitting around eating your candy trying to think of something to do, maybe try watching one of the Ghostbuster movies, you won’t regret it.
