Chicago sports fans have been loving life recently due to the competitiveness of Chicago teams. Currently the Blackhawks record is 10-5-4 and they are sitting fourth in the central division. While the team is doing well, what’s even better is their star player, Connor Bedard.
Bedard is only 20 years old and is looking like one of the most promising players in the league so far. Just the other night Bedard completed his second hat trick of the season only 19 games in.
The Blackhawks are 5-0-1 in the last six games, and Bedard has been a huge part of this takeover. Not only has 20 year old Bedard been an effective scorer he has also been a huge leader in the locker room for the Hawks. He wore a badge the other night showing his accomplishment of alternate captain for the first time in the regular season. Bedard is nothing short of committed to showing the fans and team how to win games in the NHL.
Not only are Bedard and the Blackhawks fun to watch every night, the Blackhawks are bringing back their cool black alternate jerseys for the next three three seasons according to Chicago Sun Times. The fanbase loves these jerseys since they were used back in the early 2000’s.
When the Hawks are good, Chicago fans think hockey is much more fun to watch. Sophomore Langdon Stokien said, “I think this team has a chance to do something special this year and turn some heads when it gets later on in the season. I enjoy watching hockey so much more now since I have a team that I believe can win on any given night now.”
Connor Russell, another sophomore, added, “Hockey is a sport that I can enjoy watching whenever, but when I can now watch the Blackhawks play with better competition, and Bedard scores hat tricks every once in a while, it adds to my enjoyment.”
